I'll be returning to my alma mater, Pacific Lutheran University, for their Jazz Under the Stars summer concert series. This homecoming will be twofold, as I used to open for JUtS headliners when I was a student. I'll be playing with local musicians Bill Anschell, piano, Ryan Donnelly, bass, and Steve Bentley, drums.
The concert will be in the music building's open-air amphitheater, and seasoned concert-goers come early, and bring folding camp chairs, or blankets to sit on. Bring a picnic, and some cash to buy snacks, wine, and beer. It's a great hang.
Paul Tegels, PLU's organ professor will offer a brief concert during intermission in beautiful Lagerquist concert hall on the remarkable Fuchs pipe organ, and weather permitting, there will be stargazing available after the concert at Keck Observatory on campus.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will move inside to Lagerquist Hall. The closest access to the amphitheater is via Wheeler Street.
If you're in the Seattle/Tacoma area, come hear me perform in Washington for the first time in 12 years!
